FAQ
Answers to common questions about Fastmount panel mounting systems. Installation, ranges, applications and technical guidance.
Fastmount is a concealed mounting system that uses interlocking male and female clips to install and remove panels without tools. It provides precise alignment and a flush finish with no visible screws.
The male clip attaches to the substrate (wall, frame) and the female clip installs on the panel back. When pressing the panel into place, the clips engage with a secure click. To remove, simply pull the panel or use an extraction tool.
Tool-free removal, precise adjustable alignment, up to 70% faster installation, concealed fixings, easy access to services behind panels, and thousands of removal cycles without degradation.
Yacht and superyacht interiors, residential and commercial architecture (hotels, offices, retail), furniture manufacturing, RVs and anywhere removable panels with professional finish are needed.
Fastmount clips are engineered for thousands of removal and reinstallation cycles without performance loss. The exact number varies by range but all exceed 500 documented cycles.
Consider panel weight and thickness, material, environment (marine, interior) and access requirements. Fastmount offers 8 ranges from ultra-thin (VLP, 2.5mm) to heavy-duty (SLX, large panels). Contact us for personalised advice.
To install the female clip a CNC router or drill with specific bit (CT-09, CT-13A) is needed. For panel mounting and removal no tools are needed: panels press-fit into place and are removed by hand or with the CT-05 tool.
Yes. Female clips are designed to integrate into automated CNC workflows. Fastmount provides CAD files and positioning guides for all ranges.
Some clips are suitable for outdoor use when properly specified. The Metal Range in 316 stainless steel (MC-SSM10B, MC-SSF10B) is designed for marine and demanding outdoor environments.
Yes. We offer trial kits containing sample clips, installation instructions and technical guidance to evaluate system performance before placing an order. Contact us to request one.
The PC-M1B is the original self-tapping male clip from the Standard Range with a 5 kg pull-out force. It is Fastmount's most versatile clip, suitable for most interior panels in marine and architecture. It pairs with the PC-F1A female clip.
Both are surface-mount male clips from the Standard Range. The PC-SM2 supports 5 kg and the PC-SM2H is the heavy-duty version with 10 kg pull-out force. The PC-SM2H is recommended for heavier panels or vibration environments.
The PC-AF1 is a self-adjusting female clip from the Standard Range. It compensates for variations of up to 2mm between panel and substrate, making it ideal for irregular surfaces or when dimensional tolerance is needed.
The SLX-M18 has an 18 kg pull-out force, making it one of the most powerful clips in the SLX Range. Ideal for large, heavy panels in architecture and marine. Also available in fire-rated version (SLX-M18-FR).
The SLX-F40T is a female clip designed for wood and plywood substrates (screw fixing). The SLX-F40R is designed for drywall and plasterboard (surface mount with anchors). Both are compatible with all SLX males (M5 to M25).
The SLX-M5 has a 5 kg pull-out force. It is the most compact clip in the SLX Range, ideal for lightweight small-format panels in architecture and furniture. For heavier panels, consider the SLX-M10 (10 kg) or SLX-M18 (18 kg).
The LP-F8 is the self-tapping female clip from the Low Profile Range with 5 kg pull-out force. Designed specifically for marine interiors where space between panel and substrate is limited. Pairs with LP-M8A or LP-SM8AS males.
The LP-SMX is the heavy-duty male clip (15 kg) from the Low Profile Range, ideal for heavy panels in superyachts. The LP-SM8H supports 10 kg and suits medium-weight panels. Both are surface-mount.
Yes. The Low Profile Range was designed specifically for the marine sector where engine vibration and waves are constant. The clips keep panels firm and aligned even in rough sea conditions.
The VL-F3 + VL-M3 set has a total profile of just 2.5mm, making it Fastmount's most compact mounting system. Ideal for thin panels and spaces with minimal gap between panel and substrate.
The VL-M3X is the extra heavy-duty male clip from the Very Low Profile Range with 25 kg pull-out force. It combines the ultra-compact VLP profile with exceptional retention, ideal for heavy panels in tight spaces.
Yes. The VL-F3FR (female) and VL-M3FR (male) clips are the fire-rated versions of the Very Low Profile Range. They comply with fire resistance regulations for superyachts and public spaces.
The MC-SSM10B (male) and MC-SSF10B (female) clips are 316 stainless steel with 10 kg pull-out force. They are Fastmount's only fully metal clips, designed for extreme environments: high temperature, salt humidity and applications requiring fire resistance.
Use the Metal Range when the environment demands resistance to high temperatures, salt corrosion or strict fire regulations. In yacht galleys, engine rooms, outdoor areas or any application where polymers are not suitable.
The SL-M18 has 18 kg pull-out force. The Stratlock Range is designed for large, heavy panels in commercial architecture: hotel feature walls, gymnasium cladding, large-format acoustic panels. Also available in fire-rated version SL-M18-FR.
The SL-RLE is a 3-metre aluminium rail profile that acts as a continuous substrate for Stratlock female clips. It allows mounting large panels in line without intermediate framing. Ideal for large-format feature walls in hotels and retail.
The TC-F6H is a female clip from the Textile Range that is sewn directly to the fabric, upholstery or cushion. It slides over the male clip (TC-SM6S or TC-M6) fixed to the frame, creating a firm invisible bond. Ideal for yacht cushions, sofas and chairs.
Yes. Textile clips are designed so cushions can be easily removed for cleaning and replaced in seconds. The TC-F6H clip withstands multiple washing and replacement cycles.
The PS-S150E is a safety retention system that keeps ceiling panels suspended during maintenance tasks. It prevents panels from falling when removed, allowing safe access to hidden services. The 150mm stainless steel cable attaches via surface mount.
